01About these terms

This website is operated by Terawatt (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2018/000000/07, registered in Pretoria, South Africa. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

These terms work alongside our POPIA policy. Where they overlap, the POPIA policy wins for anything to do with personal information.

02Use of this site

You may read the site, download the PDFs, use the calculators and submit enquiries — for your own commercial use, or for the legitimate evaluation of Terawatt as a potential supplier.

You may not:

• Scrape the site at volume, or use automated tools to extract content for republication.
• Reverse-engineer the calculator or any other interactive element to extract proprietary cost or yield models.
• Misrepresent yourself or the company you work for in any form submission.
• Submit malicious files, code, or content designed to harm the site or its users.
• Use the site or its content to train a competing commercial AI model without our written permission.

03Intellectual property

The Terawatt name, the T-block mark, the Solar/Peak/EnergyCloud sub-brand marks, the typographic system, the photography, the calculator code, the diagrams, the case studies and all written content on this site are the intellectual property of Terawatt (Pty) Ltd or our licensors.

You may share short, attributed excerpts on social media or in editorial articles, with a link back to the original page. Anything beyond fair dealing under SA copyright law needs our written permission.

The lead-magnet PDFs (Solar EPC Spec, Peak Tariff Pack, EnergyCloud Bill Analyser sample) are provided for the named recipient's internal use. Please don't redistribute them — share the download link instead.

04What you send us

When you submit information through this site — a contact form, a bill upload, an email enquiry — you confirm that:

• You have the right to share the information.
• You are not bound by an NDA or other contract that would prevent you sharing it.
• The information is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

For commercially sensitive information — full electricity bills, site drawings, financial models — we recommend you ask us to sign a Mutual NDA before sending. We will sign one on request. The default position is that anything you send is treated as confidential by us, even without an NDA.

05Privacy

How we handle personal information is governed entirely by the POPIA policy. Please read that document.

06Indicative figures

Every saving figure, payback period, IRR percentage, performance ratio, MWh estimate, project case study and ROI-calculator output on this site is indicative. None of them are commitments, projections, or financial advice.

Project case studies are composite — they describe outcomes that are typical across our operating fleet, not the specific outcome at any one site. Per-site numbers are confidential and shared only under a signed NDA.

The ROI calculator uses standard South African solar yield assumptions (~SA-average yield) and a generic tariff escalator. It is a starting point for a conversation, not a quotation. A real model uses your actual half-hourly load curve, your real tariff schedule, your real soiling regime, your real grid-impact study, and the real CapEx for your site.

Nothing on this site constitutes:

• Financial advice as defined under the FAIS Act.
• Engineering advice for a specific site (that requires a signed engagement and an ECSA-registered engineer on the file).
• A binding offer to supply equipment or services. Binding offers come on Terawatt letterhead, signed by an authorised signatory, after a feasibility engagement.

07Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, Terawatt is not liable for any loss, damage, or cost arising from:

• Decisions you take based on indicative figures from this site, lead-magnet PDFs or the calculator.
• Interruption of the site or any of its tools, however caused.
• Loss of data, profit, revenue, business or goodwill.
• Action of a third-party sub-processor (we have contracts with them, but we don't operate their infrastructure).

None of this limits any liability that can't be limited under South African law — for instance, gross negligence or fraud on our part, or your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act.

08Third-party links

The site links out to NERSA, the Information Regulator, SARS, government tender portals, WhatsApp, and a small number of standards bodies. We have no control over those sites and we're not responsible for their content. We try to keep the links current; please tell us if a link breaks.

09Changes

We will update these terms when our practice changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. We will not retroactively make these terms stricter — material changes will be flagged at least 30 days in advance for subscribers and customers.

10Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Division, Pretoria. Before going to court we'll always try to resolve a problem with you directly — please email us at the address below.

If any clause in these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of the terms continue to apply.
